Olaf and kids

    • The difficult decision has been made to cancel the organized day of events for Arctic Fever 2021. The unpredictable nature of the COVID19 pandemic lead to this decision. The safety of our community takes precedence.

That does not stop you from getting outside this winter! Try these fun things to do to celebrate winter:

      Ice sculptures

      Snow fun

      Snow science

Celebrating 16 years of Winter Fun

The coloring contest is already underway! Make sure you get the kids showing off their artistic flare and enjoy the snow! Contest pictures for kids age 11 and under are due to Excelsior Library no later than 5 p.m., January 16. Great prizes for the winners! All pictures are on display in the front windows of Excelsior Library on Water Street in Excelsior.

Story Stroll in Badger Park

Excelsior Library is sponsoring a fun Story Stroll along the trail in Badger Park. Check our events page for a family gift pack to enjoy after your stroll. Stroll January 11 to January 18 along new Badger Park trail. Your entire family will love the stroll!

Build a snowman and enter for prizes!

Fingers are crossed for some magic snow for our snowman building contest. No need to go anywhere! When the snow comes, build your snowman--and don't hold back on the creativity! Send a picture of your masterpiece to Arctic Fever Committee and you could win one of several gift cards from local merchants and restaurants. So get your top hats ready! All pictures are due no later than 5 p.m., Friday, January 15.

Participants get Joey Nova's pizza slice certificates just for letting the city know you are participating! Email with the snowman picture and location. All snowmen must be in Shorewood, Tonka Bay or Excelsior. If you live outside the community you may build your snowman in one of the city parks.
